BREAKING NEWS!

April 28, 2010 1 comment

But not really.

2 posts in one day? Unheard of.

Technically, it’s Wednesday now, so eat it.

Before I get to everything else, I would like to congratulate myself on hitting a completely legitimate grand slam in my softball game tonight. The pitcher intentionally walked the guy ahead of me to load the bases, and I jacked one out of the park about 320 feet on the fly to put my team ahead. We ended up losing, but it felt good to hit one out. That always feels good.

Ok, enough shameless self promotion (it’s my blog, I can do what I want).

I started using Foursquare this month. I’m now the mayor of 3 different places (who cares if one of them is my house and one of them is my building at work?). My buddy Mike started giving me crap about it today. Let’s just say that I consider myself a social media mogul and a technology power-user. If you don’t like the fact that you can know where I am all the time, then unfollow me. I dare you.

Major League Baseball just banned all of the MLB-employed beat writers from tweeting anything non-baseball related. That’s pretty stupid IMO. It’s a good thing I only follow one of them, but I feel that all the MLB fun is being taken out of Twitter. It’s probably due to one guy and his thoughts on the Arizona law that just passed regarding immigration. Bud Selig now has his panties all in a bunch. I’ll be happy when he’s gone.

Gin & Tonics go down too easily. And I love them. A lot.

This makes me cringe. I truly appreciate the fact that I can share my faith at work. Sure, I may get made fun of, but it’s worth it. It’s me. I’m not changing my beliefs or refusing to talk about them just because of my career. I hate it when people separate career from religion. If you hire me, you’re hiring all of me!

I Love Butch Walker. I love his music. Check him out. If you don’t like him you’re stupid.

Aaron Harang got his first win for the Reds tonight since August 9th of last year. The guy is making $12.5 million dollars. Can’t blame the Reds for that one. He was damn good for 2 years when he got his contract. This article shows that the Reds can’t afford to make the same payroll mistakes that other teams can. That’s a fine line to have to walk.

I went to my first Diaconate Ordination for my friend Adam this past weekend. Probably the most beautiful mass I’ve ever been to, a nice luncheon afterwards, & capped off by a sweet party at his parents house that evening. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that much alcohol in a residential setting before. Yes, we had to go on a beer run towards the end.

Something I learned last week: Don’t slide on a softball field in shorts…twice. That is, unless you’re a masochist. I’ve got a nice scab enveloping my entire left shin to prove my point.

Passiveagressivenotes.com is now one of my favorite websites. I’m a very direct person, so in real life, I completely hate passive agressiveness, but I like it when other people have to deal with it instead of me.

Are you Catholic? Do you like stats? Check out this link to satisfy your craving for both. (h/t to Father Kyle Schnippel)

I have watched this SNL Weekend Update sketch multiple times, and it still makes me laugh. Check it.

Ok, it’s bedtime. I have to wake up in 5 hours. Maybe we’ll get together tomorrow.
